Donald Douglas Simpson, age 71 years, 3 months, and 10 days, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022 at his home in Pine Knot.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Bro. Damon Stevens officiating. Burial was in the New Liberty Cemetey.

He was born June 22, 1951 in the Duck Run community to Arnold Kelly Simpson ad Etta Ball Simpson. Don served in the U S Army during the Vietnam Era and also served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Kinne Slaven Post of the American Legion. Don had worked the American Bag Corporation before his retirement, where he served as a supervisor. In his spare time he enjoyed sports and sitting on his porch drinking coffee. Don was a very loving father and grandfather who highly valued family time.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Jackie Ray Simpson, and sisters, Patricia Spradlin, Sandra, and Shirley.

Survivors include his children, Doug Simpson and his wife, Laquia, Dana Heilig and her husband, Michael, Daphne Henderson and her husband, Mike, Cadence Anderson, and Adelyn Cordell, brother, Wayne Simpson, and grandchildren, Noah Simpson, Aiden Simpson, Elle Heilig, Alex Worley, and Jerikah Henderson.
