Dude Lovell Tucker, Sr. of Ludlow, Kentucky, age 82 years, 1 month, and 20 days, passed away Wednesday January 15, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky and was taken into the care of the Hickman- Strunk Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Staley officiating. Burial was in the Green Grove Cemetery. Dude was born November 26, 1937, in Nevelsville, Kentucky to Eli Tucker and Nerva Owens Tucker. He graduated from Pine Knot High School in 1956 and then proudly spent 8 years serving our country in the US Navy. Dude earned his living and provided for his family as a chemical process technician working out of the International Chemical Worker's union and retiring from Hilton Davis Chemical Company, in Cincinnati. Dude was a man with varied interests. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, mountain biking, hiking, golf , reading ,baking and playing along with Jeopardy . He was also a history buff and enjoyed studying about the civil war. He collected antiques and enjoyed hunting for them. He was a faithful member of Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Bedford Masonic Lodge #123. Dude was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters, Ruby Quimby, Belle Thompson, and Lorita Mize, and a lifelong friend, Liz Wilson. His survivors include three sons, Dude Tucker Jr., of Burlington, Kentucky, Patrick Tucker and his wife, Tonya, of Union, Kentucky and Jody Tucker, of California, two daughters, Donna Smith and her husband, Rick, of Union, Kentucky, and Angie Elliott and her husband, Wade, of Ludlow, Kentucky, two brothers, Noah Tucker, and his wife, Esther, of Pine Knot and Gary Tucker of South Carolina, two sisters, Nora Miller, and her husband Bill, of Indiana, and Margarett Wong and her husband Stanford, of Cincinnati, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many cousins and friends. Dude will be fondly remembered as a kind, gentle man. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Dude Tucker.
