Elsie Jones Worley, age 89 years, 9 months, and 14 days, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 in Jasper, Alabama. Funeral services were held Friday, August 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Rufus Hughes and Bro. Harmon Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery. She was born October 29, 1927 in Ritner, Kentucky to George W. Jones and Susie Clark Jones. Elsie was a homemaker and a member of Plesant Rock United Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening and loved fishing and camping. Elsie was so proud of her family and loved spending time with them, and enjoyed going to church. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Richard L Worley, whom she married July 6, 1942 , two brothers, Fordie Jones, and Noble Jones, four sisters, Nina Ross, Martha Phillips, Clara Burke, and Gracie Foster. and a son in law, Barry Lay. Survivors include two sons, Bobby Worley and his wife, Theola, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Danny Worley and his wife, Judy, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, two daughters, Faye Lay, of Pine Knot, Kentucky and Sandie Matthews, and her husband, Don, of Jasper, Alabama, one brother, George Jones Jr., of Monticello, Kentucky, and one sister in law, Norma Jean Jones, of Muncie, Indiana, four grandchildren, and two great grand children.
