Evelyn Shepherd went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2021, on her 95th Birthday, at her residence in LaGrange, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 8, 2021 in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial followed in the McCreary Memorial Gardens. She was born July 5, 1926 in McCreary County, Kentucky to Luther and Dillie Tucker. Evelyn was a member of the Stearns seventh day Adventist church and a beloved former employee of the McCreary County Schools for over 42 years where she kept generations of kids at Whitley City Elementary School happy and fed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville Shepherd, her son, Bill Shepherd, her parents, Luther and Dillie Tucker, her brothers Hubert, Junior, and James Tucker, her sister, Tammie Walker (Estle), and her son in law, Milford Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Davis, her son, Randall Shepherd (Pat), her grandchildren, Darla Glazebrook (Craig), Gary Shepherd (Kimberly), Paula Shepherd (Meredith), Jason Davis (Karen), Samantha Bennett (Andy), a brother, Ralph Tucker (Barb), 10 Great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, close friends, and grand-dogs. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Evelyn Shepherd.
