Faron Lee King, age 63 years and 16 days, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at his home in Pine Knot, Kentucky. A memorial service was held on Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Resurrection Life Christian Center with Bro. Eddie King, Bro. Braxton King, and Bro. Preston King officiating. He was born September 11, 1956 in Oneida, Tennessee to Robert Lloyd King and Lula Hancock King. Faron had been a certified welder and employed by Blue Diamond Mines. He loved the sport of basketball and had been recognized as an outstanding basketball player and was a star player for his high school team. Faron also enjoyed baseball and hunting, but especially enjoyed family time and loved his family unconditionally. He was a member of the First Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Faron was very close to Christ and his last days were happy and he lived in peace and contentment. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Cathy, a brother, Gary King, and a sister, Jeannie King West. Survivors include a son, Preston King and his wife, Dawn, of Whitley City, a daughter, Michelle Kidd and her husband, Randy, of Pine Knot, a brother, Braxton King and his wife, Monica, of Strunk, a sister, Jill Wilson and her husband, Jared, of Strunk, and three grandchildren, Cody King, Liam Kidd, and Laney Kidd.
