Fontella Ridner age 87 years, and 11 days, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023, at her home in Parkers Lake, Kentucky and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Ridener officiating. Burial was in the Marlar Cemetery.

She was born February 16, 1936, in Funston, Kentucky to Albert Swain and Carrie Jones Swain. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagle-Sawyer Fired Department. Fontella enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, camping, sewing, and cooking. Her family called her an amazing mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herman Ridner, son, Jerry Wayne Ridner, brothers, McArthur Swain, Edward Swain, Leslie Swain, Elvis Swain, and Allen Swain, sisters, Virginia Vanover, Ivory Pearl Swain, and Faye Griffis.

Survivors include sons, Everett Ridner, James Ridner, and wife, Karen, and Lonnie Ridner, and wife, Doris, daughters, Brenda Campbell, and husband, Kenneth, and Makenzi Ridner, brother, Everett Swain, and wife, Rhonda, sisters, Diane Ridener, and Joyce Goodin, and husband, Howard, 13 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Fontella Ridner.
