Freddie Ray Shelton, age 85 years, 1 month, and 8 days, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the Baptist Health Care in Corbin, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Marshes Siding Church of God with Bro. Harry Watters and Bro. Hurstle Daugherty officiating. Burial was Saturday, May 15, 2021 in the Barrenfork Cemetery. He was born April 4, 1936 in Whitley City, Kentucky to Sam Shelton and Dora Alice Black Shelton. Freddie was a retired carpenter and a deacon at the Marshes Siding Church of God. He enjoyed playing his mandolin in church and enjoyed riding four wheelers. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Shirley Marler Shelton a sister, three brothers, Bonnie, Earl, and Willard, and a son, Ricky Bryan Shelton. Survivors include a son, Jeffery Ray Shelton, and Tracey Brooks, two sisters in-law, Ella Mae Bybee, and Maxine Lawson, and several nieces and nephews. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Freddie Ray Shelton.
