Gene Ball, age 77 of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, at his home and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

In keeping with his wish's cremation was chosen.

He was born September 10, 1948, in the Holly Hill community to the late Andy Ball and Reba Towe Ball. Gene was a deacon of the Freewill Baptist Church in Pine Knot, Kentucky. He enjoyed singing in a quartet and treasured the fellowship and faith that came through music and church.

Gene found joy in the simple things of life. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, spending time with his family, tinkering with lawn mowers, collecting Hot Wheels, and loving his dog.

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Bonnie White Ball, daughters, Alice Dora Stratton, three brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include daughter, Penny Ball, granddaughter, Tosha Rae Murphy, Arlene Meadows, and Otis Ramond White III, three great grandchildren, Karlie, Emily, and Talon, and many other friends and family members.

Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Gene Ball.
