George Lewis Tapley, Jr. age 72 years, 11 months, and 26 days of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the Hill Top Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Tapley and Bro. Larry Ball officiating. Burial followed in the Watters Cemetery. He was born April 16, 1943 in Blue Heron, Kentucky to George Lewis Tapley, Sr. and Pearl (Watters) Tapley. Junior was a member of the Hill Top Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, collecting guns, and spending time with his grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister, Lois Goodwin. Survivors include his wife, Regina (Vaughn) Tapley of Stearns, Kentucky; sons, Ralph Tapley and wife, Anisa, of Whitley City, Kentucky, Tommy Tapley and wife, Patricia, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Larry Tapley and wife, Melinda, also of Pine Knot, Kentucky; brothers, Leon Tapley and wife, Josie, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Quentin Tapley and wife, Connie, of Revelo, Kentucky, and Mike Tapley of Stearns, Kentucky; sisters, Anna Lee Acres of Stearns, Kentucky, Carolyn Coffey of Georgia, Vonda New and husband, Leonard, of Stearns, Kentucky, Stella Tapley also of Stearns, Kentucky, and Flora Perkins and husband, Jay, of Monticello, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mr. Junior Tapley.
