Henry "Hank" Lawrence Godsey age 90 years, 8 months, and 9 days of Burnside, Kentucky, formerly of Stearns, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Baptist Health of Corbin. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Staley officiating. Burial followed in the Stearns Cemetery. He was born June 11, 1925 in Stearns, Kentucky to Corneilius Godsey and Mandy Bell (Maxwell) Godsey. Hank was of the Baptist faith, attending the Tateville Baptist Church. He retired as an Aircraft Mechanic for GE. Hank was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in both WWII and the Korean War. In his early years, Hank had worked as an entertainer. He was a songwriter and has recordings in the country music hall of fame on the Rich-R-Tone label. Hank also enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, flowers and gardening, watching TV, and spending time with family, especially the children. Preceding him in death are his parents; his first wife, Norma (Perry) Godsey and second wife, Wilma (Henry) Godsey; brothers, James "Jimmy" Godsey, Clarence Godsey, and Cline Godsey; and sisters, Bertha Jones, Sadie Stearns, and Stella Gibson. Survivors include a son, Jeremy Godsey of Ellijay, Georgia; step-children, Sharon Blevins and husband, Carl, of Whitley City, Kentucky and Charles Williams and wife, Lana, also of Whitley City, Kentucky; a brother, Arnold Godsey of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; and a sister, Ann Burke of Cincinnati, Ohio. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mr. Hank Godsey.
