Herstle Marion Jones, age 84, widower of Lola Jones, passed away on Monday, May 20th, 2024 at his home in Stearns and was placed into the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, May 24th, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Rock Springs Baptist Church in Stearns, Kentucky. The family received friends after 11:00am until the funeral hour. Burial followed in the Ray Jones Mountain View Cemetery.

Herstle was born to James Oscar and Addie Frances Jones on May 3rd, 1940 in the Ritner community of McCreary County. Herstle graduated from Fairlawn High school in Sidney, Ohio, after graduating he would work in a steel mill in Indiana and as a farmer in Ohio. Herstle married his late wife, Lola, on August 29th, 1963. After returning to his hometown, Herstle worked and retired as a school bus driver for the McCreary County School District. This was the job he enjoyed the most. He was a family man; enjoying hunting, fishing, and time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lola (Worley) Jones, and three brothers, Othel Jones, Donald Jones, and Jimmy Jones.

He is survived by his sons, Scotty Jones and his wife Valerie, of Whitley City, and Herschel Jones of Stearns, his daughters Vicky Weber, and Patricia Bray and her husband Wayne, all of Sidney, OH, four brothers, Kenneth Jones and his wife Thelma, Alan Jones and His wife Brenda, Clyde Jones and his wife JoAnn, and Danny Jones and his wife Carrie, all of Stearns, four sisters Anna Ruth Morrow and her husband Benny of Monticello, Shirley Worley and her husband Arnold, Christine Coffey, and Patsy Crisp, all of Stearns, eleven grandchildren, Leslie, Whitney, Megan, Rusty, Corey, Monica, Katherine, Jay, Chelsey, Conley, and Matthew, and six great-grandchildren, Bryson, Blake, Linzee, Gracie, Andrew, and KC.

The passing of Herstle is mourned by all those who knew and loved him, but we know that he left behind many wonderful memories. We hope these will be a comfort to you in your time of sorrow.
