Hettie Ilene Corder Duvall, know to all as Ilene Duvall, was born on June 9, 1929, in Ritner, McCreary County, Kentucky. She was a resident of McCreary County, Kentucky almost all of her life. She departed this life on January 5, 2017, at Fair Oaks Health Systems in Jamestown, Russell County, Kentucky, where she had been a patient since September 26, 2016. She was 87 years old. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 2:30 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Thompson officiating. Jason Burton, Trevor Trucker, Keegan Tucker, Dustin Shannon, John Wesley Duvall, and Kevin Tucker served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Clear View Cemetery. She was married to John H. Duvall, Sr. on October 19, 1950, in Smithtown, McCreary County, Kentucky. They had three children, Virginia Duvall Burton (and Larry T. Burton), of Somerset, Kentucky; John H. Duvall, Jr. (and Billie Duvall) of Stearns, Kentucky; and Warren Scott Duvall. She is survived by her husband, her three children, four grandchildren; Kimberly Burton Denney (and Mark Denney) of Somerset, Kentucky; Jason T. Burton (and Kelly Burton) of London, Kentucky; John Wesley Duvall (and Tiffany Duvall) of Pine Knot, Kentucky; and Adam Duvall, of Austin, Texas. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren: Connor Denney and Clara Denney of Somerset, Kentucky; Andrew Burton of London, Kentucky; Katelyn Duvall and Emily Duvall of Stearns, Kentucky; and Gavin Duvall and Owen Duvall of Austin, Texas. She also leaves four brothers, Calvin Corder, Charlie Corder and Gary Corder all of McCreary County, Kentucky, and Harvey Corder of Pulaski County, Kentucky, and two sisters, Elizabeth Corder Worley of Jacksboro, Tennessee, and Corena Corder Tucker of McCreary County, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobart Corder and Margaret Jones Corder; two brothers, Virgil Corder and Winfred Corder, and two sisters, Gladys Corder Worley and an unnamed baby girl. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and other family members and many friends to mourn her passing. Our loss is Her Eternal Gain!
