Jackie "Jack" Ray Fletcher passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, in Altamonte Springs, Florida on June 4th, 2024, at the age of 88. His life was a testament to his unwavering faith in Christ, his commitment to the ministry, and his love for family and fellow man.

Jack's journey began in Letcher County, Kentucky in 1936. From an early age, he experienced a deep calling to serve. He began preaching at the age of 14 and continued to share the message of Christ until his final days. He touched countless lives through ministry and education both at home and abroad, primarily in Indonesia and Kenya. While ministry led him across continents, his Kentucky home held fast in his heart. Jack lived out his call to ministry in many different roles. He served as pastor of Vanceburg Baptist, Gospel Tabernacle, Wheelersburg Baptist, Jakarta International Baptist, and Florida Shores Baptist, he served as interim pastor for Narcoossee Baptist and Pine Knot Southern Baptist, he planted and founded Faith Bible Institute in 1964, South Orlanda Baptist Church, he served as a church planter in Indonesia starting in 1971, he served as Superintendent of the Christian Baptist Association, as a Missionary with the International Mission Board in Kenya, and Director of Missions for the Red River Association and the New River McCreary Association.

Jack proudly served his country in the Marine Corps and later as an Army chaplain. In his role as Army chaplain, he provided spiritual support and guidance to both servicemen and their families. His grandchildren have followed his example of service in the military.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, Colie Fletcher, and mother, Lizzie Jane Fletcher, eight brothers: Roy, Claude, Ramey, Jimmie, Richard, Kermit, Curt, and Robert, and one sister, Alice Faye.

He is survived by Freda Fletcher, his wife and mission partner of 59 years. Together, they reared four daughters: Angela "Angie" Wagoner ("Lynn"), Amy Clinton, Anita Fletcher (Zachary Strickland), and Alisha Fletcher Tucker (Tim), who cherished his guidance and who will remember him as a pillar of strength and wisdom. Jack's legacy also lives on in his six grandchildren, Merl Wagoner ("Meg"), Ryan Wagoner (Shera), Steven Wagoner (Marie), Austin Harwell, Lane Harwell (Hannah), and Ashley Clinton, and seven great-grandchildren: Eve, Finn, Nile, Fletcher, and Mazie Wagoner and "Nate" and Shelby Blackburn.

As we grieve the loss of this most remarkable man, we also celebrate his life and the profound impact he had in this world. Jack's life was a blessing and his memory a treasure. He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

A memorial service to honor Jack and celebrate his life will be held at Pine Knot Baptist Church, 6150 St. Hwy 1651 Pine Knot, Kentucky on June 15, 2024. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 with service at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Memorial Burial Park 10556 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, OH on June 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
