Jeffrey Layne Anderson age 56 years, 10 months, and 1 day of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of McCreary County, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the McCreary Memorial Gardens. He was born November 14, 1958 to James H. Anderson and Frances (Chitwood) Anderson. Jeff was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitley City, joining as a child. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving 10 years and ranked as a Petty Officer 2nd Class. While serving in the Navy, Jeff often worked as a movie extra. He appeared in the 1986 film, Heartbreak Ridge. Jeff enjoyed fishing, hunting, and flea marketing. Preceding him in death are his parents, James Anderson and Frances Anderson Murphy, and his wife, Dianna Anderson. Survivors include his brother, Barry Anderson and companion, Velia Worley, of Pine Knot, Kentucky; sister, Judie Sither, of Lexington, Kentucky; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
