Katheryn Soard age 75 years, 2 months, and 27 days, of Stearns, Kentucky passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Leo Shelton officiating. Burial followed in the Silerville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were her grandchildren.

She was born June 15, 1941 in Strunk, Kentucky to R.L. West and Mable (King) West. Katheryn was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her home and family, especially her grandchildren, and cooking. She was a member of the Sunny Hill Church of God in Saxton, Kentucky and also enjoyed singing and reading her bible. Katheryn will be remembered as a prayer warrior, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Preceding her in death are her parents; sons, Bruce and Shawn Soard; a brother, Noble West; sisters, Brenda Watters and Wanda Crabtree; and a grandson, Shawn Helton.

Survivors include her husband, James Soard; sons, Scott Soard of Whitley City, Kentucky, Mike Soard, Mark Soard, and John Soard and companion, Lisa Meadors, all of Stearns, Kentucky; daughters, Layne Wilson and husband, Rick, Tammy Soard, Crystal Sewell, Sherry Rollins and husband, Mike, all of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Penny Stanton and husband, Henson, of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Autumn Soard of Stearns, Kentucky; brothers, Jack West and wife, Pernia, of Strunk, Kentucky, and Rocky West and wife, Karen, of Pine Knot, Kentucky; a sister, Nevada Corder of Stearns, Kentucky; and a host of grand and great-grandchildren.

Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mrs. Katheryn Soard.
