Kay Sewell, age 68 years, 7 month, and 5 days, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 3, 2021, at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Sewell officiating. Burial followed in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. She was born October 25, 1952, in Tennessee to Raymond "Honk" Flynn and Clara Jones Flynn. Kay was a member of the Lower Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed caring for her family, her coffee and smokes, and camping with family when she was younger. Her favorite thing was family gatherings. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband, Gary Sewell, two sons, Matthew Sewell, and wife, Valerie, and Brian Sewell, three brothers, Ray Flynn, Jerry Flynn, Johnny Flynn, and wife, Mindy, three grandchildren, Stephen Sewell, Jacob Sewell, and Veronica Sewell, and four great grandchildren, Kenlyn, Mason, Beckett, and Brecklyn. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Kay Sewell.
