L. D. "Crowbar" Koger, 79 years, 10 months, and 12 days old, of Whitley City, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his home. Funeral services were held Friday, January 27, 2017 at 7:30 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Vanhook officiating. Burial was in the Pine Knot Cemetery, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 12:00 pm. He was born March 14, 1937 in Stearns, Kentucky to Roscoe Koger and Matilda Ross Koger. Crowbar worked as a machinist with International Harvester before his retirement. He had owned a cigarette store and the Cozy Inn. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, playing golf, playing poker, and watching UK basketball. But he found the most enjoyment from spending time with his family. Preceding him in death were his parents and his longtime companion, Dorothy Clark. Survivors include his children, Linda Strunk and her husband, Bobby, of Stearns, Kentucky and Darrell Koger of Revelo, Kentucky, grandchildren, Susie Thompson and her husband, Sean, Cynthia Jones and her husband, Matt, Rachel Whitehead and her husband, Gary, and Daryn Gartner, and four great grandchildren.
