Lawrence Jones age 65 years, 7 months, and 21 days of Stearns, Kentucky passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at his home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 4:00 pm at the Hilltop Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Tapley and Bro. David Troxell officiating. Burial followed in the Sammy New Cemetery. He was born November 20, 1949 at home in Stearns, Kentucky to Fred Ardell Jones and Effie (Watters) Jones. Lawrence enjoyed fishing and tinkering with lawnmowers. Preceding him in death are his parents; a son, Larry Wayne Jones; a grandson, Casey Wayne Jones; and an infant sister, Imogene Jones. Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Gail Jones of Lima, Ohio; brothers, Clyde Jones, Ardell Jones and wife, Tonya, all of Stearns, Kentucky, Stanley Jones and companion, Ella Mae Matthews, and Carl Jones, all of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Viola Maxwell of Norwood, Ohio, and Christine Penticuff of Monticello, Kentucky; grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Chelsea, and Hope Jones; nieces, Michelle Matthews and Tiffany Boston; nephews, Dewayne Maxwell and Carson Penticuff; and a special great-niece, Brooklyn Matthews. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mr. Lawrence Jones.
