Lee Allen Slaven, Sr., age 63 years, 9 months, and 9 days, of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Somerset, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 7p.m. at Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Brother Mitchell Bunch and Brother Josh Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. He was born February 25, 1953 in Goshen, Indiana to Willie Slaven and Rachel Gregory Slaven. Lee was a member of the Word of God Church in Revelo. Before his retirement, he had driven a truck for ReadyMix. He was one of the first county police officers in 1977, had served as deputy sheriff, and served two terms as constable in McCreary County. In his spare time, Lee enjoyed fishing. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Shirley Faye Slaven. Survivors include his children, Clifford Slaven and his wife, Janie, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Lee Slaven, Jr. and his wife, Bea, of Oneida, Tennessee, Willie Slaven and his wife, Stashia, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Donna Conatser and her husband, Darrell, of Jamestown, Tennessee, Curtis Slaven of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Leeann Slaven of Pine Knot, Kentucky, a stepson, Nathan Hamby of Pine Knot, Kentucky a brother, Phillip Slaven and his wife, Karen, of Stearns, Kentucky, sisters, Carolyn Sue Cox of Dalton, Georgia, Kathryn Vanover and her husband, Ronnie, of Revelo, Kentucky, and Phyllis Moore and her husband, Jackie, of Decatur, Tennessee, and ten grandchildren.
