Lena Jean Ross, age 87 years, 1 month, and 25 days, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at her residence in Oneida, Tennessee. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Hatfield and Bro. Wayne Inman officiating. Burial was in the Pine Knot Cemetery. She was born January 25, 1930 in the Revelo community of McCreary County, Kentucky to William Virgil King and Hazel Luella Lovett King. Lena worked for the K & T Railroad cleaning coaches with her sister when they were teenagers and later worked at the Country Kitchen Restaurant. Lena worked as a seamstress inspector at the McCreary Manufacturing from 1962 until August 19, 1986, and was a member of the East Stearns Church of God. Lena found pleasure in crocheting and quilting. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband John Al Ross, whom she married July 20, 1968, and her brothers Harley King, Doyle King, Troy King, Donald King, and Virgil King Jr, and a nephew Carl Allen King. Survivors include her sister, Norma Stephens and her husband Elmer, of Revelo, Kentucky, her nieces, Janet King Linniman, and her husband Phillip, Norma Sparks King, Brenda Gail Sexton, five great nieces, Shelly and Nicole Linniman, Faye and Charolotte King, and Teresa Foster Branham, and one great nephew, Vern Foster and his wife, Dawn, four great- great nephews, Scott and Tyler Creekmore Gavin and Ryan Foster, one great-great niece, Nicole Branham, two great-great-great nephews, Braxton and Marcus Creekmore, two great-great-great nieces, Kay Lynn Creekmore and Raiden Rowe, and many cousins and close friends.
