Lois Hopkins Alcorn, age 78 years, and 7 months, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 7:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Bryant and Bro. Danny Staley officiating. Burial was in McCreary Memorial Gardens.

She was born in Lily, Kentucky, May 25, 1945, to Casper Hopkins and Lucy Parsons Hopkins. She attended Lily Highschool and Louisville Beauty School. Lois was a member of YaYa sisterhood of red hats, Laurel Home Guard Civil War Reenactors. She was a member of Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church and was very active in church functions. Lois enjoyed bee keeping, sewing, knitting, crocheting, basket weaving, and serving others.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, George Gale Alcorn Jr., and son, Michael Alcorn.

Survivors include sons, James Alcorn, and David Alcorn, sisters, Shirley Landen, and Jane Garmon, and husband, Grant Joseph, grandchildren, Casey Palmer, Joshua Alcorn, and Dakota Alcorn, and many friends and church family.

Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Lois Alcorn.
