Mr. Lonnie Kay Nevels of Bronston, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at U.K. Bluegrass Hospice Care Center, in Lexington Kentucky having attained the age of 66 years, 11 months and 18 days. He was born on Sunday, April 26, 1959, in the Bronston Community of Pulaski County, Kentucky the son of Harvey and Geneva (Hall) Nevels. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved motorcycles, fishing, riding horses, and he loved his family and spending time with them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Ralph Nevels and Norma Jean Morrow.

He is survived by his children, Melinda (&Donald) Hicks, Eric (&Bailey) Nevels, Julie (&David) Crabtree all of Monticello, Kentucky, and Patrick Nevels of Bronston Kentucky. His siblings, Rosa Jackson, Wanda Dykes, Charlie (&Linda) Nevels, Bro. Jimmy (&Roxie) Nevels all of Monticello Kentucky, Lisa (&Arlon) Perkins of Liberty Kentucky, Deborah (&Jesse) Neeley of Bronston Kentucky. Grandchildren, Amber Rose, Byron Gregory, Kelsey Dykes, Cheyenne Nevels, Rachel Nevels, Ezra Nevels, Raegan Nevels, Kaylee Carlson, and Remi Crabtree. Along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 17, 11:00 a.m. EST in the Memory Chapel of New's Monticello Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Nevels officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. EST and again on Friday, April 17, at 7:00 a.m. EST until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Bronston, Kentucky
