Lowell Eddie Dolen, age 80 years, 9 months, and 2 days, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Angel Point Cemetery in Stearns. The family will receive friends after 11:00 am.

He was born July 23, 1942, in Bell Farm, Kentucky to Kenneth Dolen and Sarah Maxwell Dolen. Lowell was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at the New Beech Grove Church. He was a retired Sergeant for the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Dept., a highly decorated certified peace officer, working with Sheriff Regal Bruner and Gus Skinner, he also worked many years with the drug task force eradicating marijuana. In his spare time he enjoyed bee keeping hunting, fishing, and farming.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Thressa Dolen, son, Randy Dolen, and wife, Jill, stepmother, Mildred Dolen, brother, Dana, and wife, Becky, sister, Barbara Gehring, and husband, John, Anita Briscoe, and husband, Dwight, and Quenna Collins, and all his Slaven brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The New Beech Grove Church.
