Melton W Cox, age 73 years, 5 months, and 28 days of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Monday February 6th of 2023 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Malachi Barnett officiating. Burial was in the New Liberty Cemetery.

He was born August 7th, 1949 in Whitley City, Kentucky to Jake Cox and Geneva Opal Smith Cox. Melton enjoyed playing guitar in his earlier years and could hold a tune alike Red Sovine and Johnny Cash.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers Lowell Dean Cox, Eugene Cox, and JC Cox, and daughter Patricia Lynn Cox.

Survivors include brother Milford Cox of Brownsville Texas, sisters, Charlotte Torres of Ocala Florida and Sandra Cox of Missouri, his first wife, Shirley McAdams of Wyandotte, Michigan, sons, Melton Lee Potter and Eugene Edward Cox of Cincinnati, Ohio, daughters, Michelle Mesa Davis of Lake City Florida and Melissa Ann Cox of Wyandotte Michigan, grandchildren, Tiffany Broome, Clifford Campbell III, Brandi Campbell, Corina Pacheco, Casey Cox, Jose Pacheco,Jr., Jake Pacheco, Trevor Davis, and Julia Grace Davis and great grandchildren Aiden, Jedidiah and Nokoa.

Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Melton Cox.
