Michael David Perkins, M.D., age 70 years, 5 months, and 14 days, of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 in Somerset, Kentucky. Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Pine Knot Memorial Gardens with Bro. Mark Sewell officiating. He was born January 21, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to Billie Don Perkins and Betty Wright Perkins. Mike was a graduate of DuPont Manual High School in Louisville, a 1971 graduate of Cumberland College, and graduated from the University of Louisville Medical School in 1976. He practiced family medicine for over 40 years years before his retirement. Mike was a member of the Kenwood Baptist Church in Louisville. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, watching TV, electronics, and playing practical jokes. He found great pleasure in spending time with his family. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Linda Winchester Perkins, whom he married January 8, 1983, a son, Aaron Coffey and his wife, Maleigh, of Madison, Mississippi, a step granddaughter, Haley Halford of Jackson, Mississippi, and many other friends, relatives, and special co-workers.
