Myrtle Lee Storie, age 81 of Stearns, KY departed this life on Saturday, March 21, 2026, surrounded by family.

Born May 20, 1944, in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Estill Neeley and Hattie Neeley. Myrtle found joy in shopping, embroidering, textile art, canning and gardening but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marie Walls and Anna Faye Achterfeld, son-in-law Dwayne Smith and several other half siblings.

Myrtle is survived by her husband of 63 years, David Lee Storie; daughters Cindy Smith of Oneida, TN and Tammy Dixon and Fiancé DJ of Somerset KY; 3 grandchildren, Brandon Smith and wife Mandy of Winfield, TN, Chelsey Dixon and Fiancé Alex of Whitley City, KY, and Lindsey Dixon of Somerset, KY; 5 great grandchildren, Harper Lee Smith, Gunner Smith, Chesney Burchfield, Presley Burchfield and Paisley Trosper; special friend Janet Clark; and many other family members and close friends.

In keeping with her wish's cremation was chosen.   Memorial services were held Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Malachi Barnett officiating.
