Oma Collett Turner, age 87, of Somerset, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at her home with her loving husband, Buren, and her daughter, Bridgett, by her side. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at the Turner Family Cemetery on Buren Turner Road. The family will receive friends after 6:00 pm Thursday at the Line Creek Baptist Church at 1091 Old London Road, Somerset, where she was a member. She was born March 29, 1930 in the Poplar Log Forkcommunity in Leslie County, Kentucky to Samuel Collett and Minta Brock Collett. Survivors include her husband, Buren Turner, children, Lynn and Barbara Griffith, Dwight and Kathy Griffith, Tammy and Wayne Bastin and Bridgett Turner, also Rodney (Roddy) Turner, who preceded her, Bonnie Turner, Rick and Kathy Turner, Ronald (Rooney) and Bobbie Turner, Lana and Ish (Ishmael) Minix, Gerri Mounce, Paula and Beney Nicely, Marti and Terry Huff. She is also survived by a brother, Farmer Collett and a sister, Elizabeth Jones, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
