Pamela Ann VanOver, age 55 years, 4 months, and 17 days, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her home in Lexington, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Friday, July 7, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with her cousin, Bro. Braxton King officiating Burial was in the Troxell Cemetery. She was born February 14, 1962 in Greenville, South Carolina, a Valentine's gift to her parents, Dr. Gilbert VanOver, Jr. and Ruth Ann King VanOver. As a child, she travelled the world with her parents as her father was in the United States Air Force from South Carolina to Texas, Ohio, Okinawa, Japan, Illinois, Ohio, Hawaii, and her ancestral homeland of Holland. Pam was a graduate of McCreary Central High School where she was a star point guard on the girl's basketball team. After high school she attended the University of Kentucky where she earned two masters degrees. Pam was an avid UK sports fan and was a Lady Cat season ticket holder. For eighteen years she owned McCreary County DUI and was co-owner of Winds of Change, a substance abuse counseling service in Lexington, Kentucky. She was a member of Southland Christian Church and was a Kentucky Colonel. Preceding her in death was a brother, James W. "Jay" VanOver, II. Survivors include her parents, Dr. Gilbert VanOver, Jr. and Ruth VanOver of Stearns Kentucky, her beloved dog, Bonzo, brothers, Gilbert VanOver, III and his wife, Phyllis, and Vaughn VanOver and his wife, Suzanne "her lil sis", a sister, Sheila Joyner and her husband, Hector, her babies, Penny, Nick, Dustin, Veronica, A. J., Alex, Matt, Heather, Elijah, Amber, Brooke, Cierra, Garrett, and Brandon, several aunts and uncles, Donald VanOver, Larry Bowen, Donald and Wanda Gregory, Garvis and Myrtle Burchett, Logan and Sheila King, Coye and Sudie King, Fay Mills, Jean and Scott Bryant, Anna Barton, Sue Money, Wilma Powell, Mertie and Gertie, a host of friends and loved ones including special friends, Peggy Lawson, Autumn and Chris Boggs, Leslie Brown, LeEtta Cummings, Carole Hamilton, James "DD" Mastin, Rachel Morgan, Yoshiko Nakamura, Mel Owens, Jackie Reister, Helen and Jean Gates, Susan Stephens, Jackie Thompson, Shelly Trammel, Cathy Waters, Louis Hager, Dawn Anderson Turcotte, Morgan "Moe" Turcotte, Polly Tabb Anderson and Alan Beatold.
