Rosa Jane Waters, age 86 years and 21 days, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee. Funeral Services were held Friday, February 14, 2020 at 11:00am in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Visitation was Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the funeral home. Burial was in the Silerville Cemetery in Strunk, Kentucky. Rosa was born in Whitley City on January 19, 1934 to Reverend Levi Cox and Mary Elizabeth (Stephens) Cox. Rosa was a private duty caregiver, and was a member of the Whitley City Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her bible, singing, but most of all, her family time. Rosa is preceded in death by: her parents; and her husband whom she married on July 6, 1970, Herman Walters She is survived by: one son, Charles Waters of Whitley City; one daughter, Mary Jeffers and her husband Tommy of Oneida; one sister, Mary Worley of Indiana; five grandchildren, Stefani Jeffers and fiancé Jon Riddle, Kesha Nicole Waters, Jeremay Richardson and wife Rachel, Angelia Russ, Briana King and husband Harry; and 13 Great Grandchildren.
