Samuel K. Vaughn, age 71, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, at his home in Stearns, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery.

He was born March 1, 1955, in Somerset, Kentucky, to the late Hobert Vaughn and Truie Watters Vaughn. Samuel was a member of Pine Creek United Baptist Church. He was ordained into the ministry in 1993 and faithfully pastored East Appletree United Baptist Church for 22 years. He also served as assistant pastor for 10 years at Faith Baptist Church in Sebring, Florida. Samuel found joy in growing tomatoes during the winter months in Florida, sharing his faith through his Facebook ministry, and spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping.  He loved preaching the gospel and spending time with his family and his church family.

Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, Leonard Vaughn, and sisters, Beverly Vaughn, Hazel Perry, and Ella Mae King.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Debbie Vaughn, son, Joshua Roy Vaughn, and wife, Amanda, daughter, Veronica, Stephens, and husband, Chris, grandchildren, Miley Vaughn, and Chloe Vaughn, god granddaughter, Kalie Clark , sisters, Lois Rapp, and husband Ken, and Jeanette Worley, and husband, Willard, and many nieces and nephews.
