Sandra Hayes Gilreath, age 80 years, 2 months and 14 days, widow of Maurice Gilreath, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026, at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky.

She was born May 26, 1946, in Somerset, Kentucky, to the late Leon Hayes and Ina Mae Lobb Hayes. Sandra was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and a member of Pine Knot Southern Baptist Church.

Sandra was blessed with a creative spirit and a natural artistic flair. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, painting, and arranging flowers. Whether working with fabric, a paintbrush, or flowers, she took great pleasure in creating beautiful things and sharing her talents with those around her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Hayes; nephew, Philip Hayes; and great-nephew, Alexander Hayes.

Survivors include her brother, Robert Hayes and wife, Helen; sister-in-law, Carol Hayes; nephew, Steven Hayes; nieces, Alison Hayes Conrad and Kathy Hayes-Pittman; great-nieces, Kylie' Ann Hayes and Rebecca Pittman, great nephew, Robert Westyn Hayes; along with other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

The passing of Sandra is mourned by all who knew and loved her, but we know she leaves many wonderful memories behind. We hope these will be of comfort to you in your time of sorrow.
