Shirley Ann Cooper, age 76, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026. She was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. In keeping with her wishes, direct cremation was chosen, and the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Born on May 16, 1950, in Cooperative, Kentucky, Shirley was the daughter of the late George "Jack" Haynes and Georgie (Sloan) Haynes. She attended White Oak Junction Baptist Church and found joy in life's simple pleasures. Shirley enjoyed watching television, spending time with her family, and cherished every moment she shared with her beloved grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cooper; one brother; and three sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Alisha Cooper; nephews, Chad Dobbs and Derek Dobbs; her devoted caregiver, Alison Crum; grandchildren, Maddox Walters and Charles Thaddus Cole; along with many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
