Shirley Ann Prewitt Stephens age 73 years and 9 days of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at her home. In accordance to Mrs. Stephens' wishes, her remains were cremated. She was born October 1, 1942 in McCreary County, Kentucky to Onel Prewitt and Mary (Taylor) Prewitt. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and gardening. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Melvin L. Stephens; brothers, Charles "Tony" Prewitt; and sisters, Lenita Tally, and Debbie Pugh. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Stephens of Pine Knot, Kentucky; sons, Anthony Stephens and wife, Jandy, of Ware Shoals, South Carolina, Christopher Stephens and wife, Shella, of Hebron, Kentucky, and Robert Stephens and wife, Patricia, of Pine Knot, Kentucky; brothers, Larry Prewitt of Katy, Texas, Ernie Prewitt of Whitley City, Kentucky, Wayne Prewitt of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Allen Prewitt of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Beverly Clark of Stearns, Kentucky and Lisa Brown of Ohio; 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mrs. Shirley Stephens.
