Starlin Clate Jones, age 80 years, 11 months, and 30 days, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020 at his home. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. David Troxell officiating. Burial was in Rock Springs Cemetery. He was born January 24, 1939 in the Yamacraw community to Joe Jones and Ruthia New Jones. Starlin was a U S Army veteran, having served in Korea. He made a living as an over the road truck driver for forty four years before his retirement and was member of the Teamsters Union. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing horseshoes, fishing, camping, and watching westerns. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents and several siblings. Survivors include his wife, Janet (Judy) Jones of the Smithtown community, daughters, Lisa Taylor and Sandra Murphy and her husband, Tony, both of Pine Knot, and Cristy Hill and her husband, Brian, of Stearns, grandchildren, Brandon, Kara, Jenna, Christopher, Tony, Bella, Taylor, Abby, and Tyler, and great grandchildren, Jasmine, Jayden, Arya, Harper, Rylan, Ellory, and Amos.
