Taylor "Ted" Smith, age 79, of Morning View, KY, formerly of Whitley City, passed away Thursday, November 21st, 2024, and was placed into the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, November 26th, at 12:00pm, in the Taylor Ridge Cemetery. Friends met the family at the cemetery.

Ted was born to George and Mrytle Smith on August 15, 1945 in London, Kentucky. Ted graduated from McCreary County High School in 1964 and became a builder and home improvement carpenter. Ted loved working with his hands, whether that was building, tinkering, or playing music. He loved cars, and finding ways to tinker with them. He loved music and was an avid collector of high-end guitars. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Above all, Ted loved his family and spending time with them.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Brent Albert Smith, and Richard Wayne Smith, and his sister, Patsy Morrow.

Ted is survived by his son, Chris Smith and his wife Brittany, of Morning View, KY, his sisters, Peggy Smith, of Whitley City, and Judy Terry and her husband Paul, of Morning View, KY, his brother-in-law, Milton Morrow, his nieces, Charity, Crystal, and Karen Carmoddy and her husband Tom, his nephew, Eddie, Richard Smith and his wife Brooke, and Doug Smith, and his wife Lisa Jo, and his Granddaughters, Elsie Fawn Smith, and Emma Elizabeth Swayne.
