Thelma Nellie Cornelius, age 89 years, 10 months, and 18 days, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born December 15, 1927 in Pine Knot, Kentucky to John Wood and Zola Meadors Wood. Thelma worked for Formica in Cincinnati, Ohio, and retired as a sheet inspector. She loved square dancing and sewing. Thelma also found pleasure in gardening and caring for family. Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, Lawrence Wood, Harold Wood and Dean Wood, one sister, Dorothy Wood and a granddaughter, Amanda Cook. Survivors include a son, Ritchie Cornelius, of Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter, Joan Cook, of Lancaster, Kentucky, a brother, John Chester Wood, of Walton, Kentucky, a sister, Anna Perkins, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Adams and Jayden Meade, step grandchildren, Rodney Watson and Trecia Rhodus, step great grandchildren, Dyllon Rhodus, Holli Rhodus, Dustin Sparks, Raelynn Watson, and Tristen Watson, step great great grandchild, Jackson Lee Sparks, a very special friend, Cora Wilson, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and cousins.
