Thelma Louise Hubbard, age 85 years, 7 months, and 3 days, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Somerset, Kentucky. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Pine Knot Cemetery with Bro. Hap Strunk officiating. Burial was in the Pine Knot Cemetery. She was born July 9, 1931 in Fentress County, Tennessee to Grover C. and Lela Hale Geer. Thelma worked at Pine Knot Job Corp. Center. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Thelma found pleasure in quilting, reading, cooking for others and going to Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, her son, Charles Edward Owens, four brothers, Powell Geer, Kenneth Geer, Grover C. Geer Jr., and Hubert Geer. and also two sisters, Josephine Simpson and Geneva McGlasson. Survivors include three daughters, Ann Strunk, of Revelo, Kentucky, Helen Elaine Hill and her husband, Joseph "Butch", of Decatur, Alabama and Janice K. Johnson and her husband, Martin of Birmingham, Alabama, two special nieces, Betty Barrick and Charlotte Shirley, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
