Wanda Ruth Clark Gibson, 77, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.

She was born on December 29, 1948, in Hill Top, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Raymond Clark and Darkie Coffey Clark. Wanda was a dedicated homemaker for most of her life but worked at several places throughout the community, where she won the friendships of many. Wanda enjoyed shopping, gardening, listening to Elvis, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Wanda was married to the love of her life, Damon Gibson, on August 14, 1973, in Jellico, Tennessee, and he predeceased her on May 4, 2020. She was a loving, kind-hearted mother and grandmother and a generous woman who will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Tonja Lanette Jones, who passed away on November 26, 2018. Two siblings: Lenville (Stella) Clark and Rayma Dean Clark.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a devoted son, Dana Brian (Misty) Gibson of Whitley City, Kentucky, her siblings: Glenna (Rank) Parks, Faron (Melinda) Clark, Reba (Lonnie) Heath, Kaye Clark Dick, and Ila (Mack) Freeman, two grandchildren; Brianna (Zach) Wilson and Dawson Gibson, two great-grandchildren; Brilee Faith Hooks and Kinsley Grace Wilson as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
