Wanda Faye Perkins, age 71, of Pine Knot, passed away on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 and was placed into the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services were held on Monday, December 2nd, 2024 at 12:00pm in the Higginbotham Cemetery. Friends met the family at the cemetery.

Wanda was born to Harmon and Gertie (Perry) Vanover on May 19, 1953 in Parkers Lake. Wanda was very kind and selfless, always wanting to take care of others before herself. She was the biggest Elvis fan, loved to watch her soaps, and especially enjoyed being outdoors. She loved sitting on her porch, taking care of her cats and flowers, tending her garden, and even fishing. Wanda loved her family more than anything and always wanted to make sure they knew how much she cared for them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Bill, Willie, and Robert Vanover, her beloved husband Lewis Ray Perkins, and her sons Kevin Ray Perkins and Lewis Dewayne Perkins.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Teresea Garland; her brother, Clarence Vanover; her sister, Ruby Goodin; her granddaughter, Amber Perkins-King; her great-grandchildren, Kendall and Kaden King; her special niece that always helped her, Sherry Goodin; and several nieces and nephews.
