Wayne Edward "Eddie" Swift, Sr. USMC left this earth on October 1, 2015, leaving behind a legacy of those who loved him dearly. He was born July 7, 1951 in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania to Harold K. Swift, Sr. and Alvira (Wales) Swift. Wayne loved NASCAR and working on vehicles. When he was able, he also enjoyed tinkering with things around the house, painting houses, and doing concrete work. When Wayne's maker called him home, he left his wife and soul mate, Cheryl, of 42 years behind along with 3 sons, Wayne Swift, Jr., Shaun Swift, and Robert Swift, two daughters, Tiffanie Martinez and Leena Swift, all of McCreary County, Kentucky. Wayne Sr. also leaves behind 4 brothers, Harold K. Swift Jr. (Sue), Leslie "Leo" Swift, Rickey Swift (MaryAnn), Daniel "Dutch" Swift (Ruth), all of Interlachen, Florida; one sister, Linda Cooper of Apopka, Florida; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Jack) Church of Apopka, Florida and Mary (John) Benjamin, of Florida; and brothers-in-law, Harvey (Christine) Greene of Astatula, Florida, and Alfred Greene of Orlando, Florida. Wayne Sr. is also survived by many nieces, nephews, 7 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, 10 great-grandchildren, along with many friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Elvis Wayne Swift; mother-in-law, Edna Vinson; fathers-in-law, Alfred Dale Greene and Donald L. Vinson; as well as many aunts, uncles, paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, cousins, and so many more loved ones. In accordance to Mr. Swift's wishes, his remains were cremated. A memorial gathering was held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the family's home in Stearns, Kentucky.
