William (Willie) Frye, 69, Mandan North Dakota, passed away November 11, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius Health. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Hap Strunk officiating. Burial was in the Pine Knot Cemetery. He was born to Jacob and Barbra (Hager) Frye August 30, 1948. At the early age of 15 Willie joined the Job Corp, which took him to Pine Knot, Kentucky. On March 24, 1967 he was joined in marriage to Shirley Waters. Soon after marriage they moved to Muncie, Indiana where they resided for 12 years before making their home in Mandan, North Dakota. Willie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He also enjoyed traveling, especially his trips to Las Vegas. Family was always important and his grandsons were his great joy. Willie will be deeply missed by his wife, Shirley, Mandan, daughter; Christy Frye, Mandan; sons, Wesley Frye, Minneapolis MN, and Tony (Leslie) Frye, Mandan; grandsons, Josh, Robbie, and Jacob Sailing; brother, George (Sharon) Frye, Mandan; sisters-in-law, Ella Mae, Fay Hill, Janice Grundy, Brenda Waters, and Mary Gibson. Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Barbra Frye; brothers, Wendelin (Denise) Frye and Eugene Frye; sister Caroline (Ted) Conner; and brothers-in-law, Tyree Hill, Truman Hill, James Grundy, Chester Waters, Kenneth Waters, and Paul Watters.
