William Carter "Bill" Henry, age 90 years and 5 days, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Signature Health Care Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky. Funeral Services were held Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Decker officiating. Burial was in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. He was born April 20, 1927, in Revelo, Kentucky to Joseph H. Henry Sr. and Pearl Carter Henry. Bill retired from National Cash Register where he was employed for 28 1/2 years. He was a member of Green Hills Baptist Church in Monticello, Kentucky. Bill found pleasure playing music, and was a skilled guitarist. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and was a master story teller. He was a Kentucky Colonel and served in the U.S. Navy in WWII on the Minesweeper YM 58 among his other duties. Preceding him in death were his parents, and his wife, Mildred Edwards Henry, three brothers, Joe Henry, Clinton Henry, Edwin Henry, and six sisters, Rova Harman, Chloe Spencer, Mildred Strunk, Wilma Godsey, Rosemary Orme, and Madeline Wright.
