Wilma Lou Corder, age 86 years, 2 months, and eight days went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2017, with her family by her side at the Jean Waddell Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Hobert Corder and Bro. Gary Stephens officiating. Burial was in the Clear View Cemetery. Wilma was born September 1, 1931 in the Smithtown Community. She was one of seven children born to Van Buren Duvall and Nannie Ota Morton Duvall. Upon graduating from high school, Wilma married Charlie Corder on March 9, 1951 and the couple began their life together raising a family and making a living. She worked for the McCreary County Health Department as a clerk until her retirement. A devout Christian, Wilma was a member of the Clear View United Baptist Church. Her faith and her family were the center of Wilma's life. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, making each grandchild their own special quilt. She also treasured time spent with her family and friends. Wilma is survived by her husband of over 66 years, Charlie Corder, of Smithtown, two sons, Doug Corder and his wife, Linda, of Whitley City, Joseph Buren Corder and his wife, Janet, of Somerset, a daughter, Janet Stephens and her husband, Gary, of Whitley City, nine grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, John Duvall Sr., Tommy Duvall, and Morton Duvall, and three sisters, Maxine Griffis Reynolds, Molly Duvall, and Cara Frances Duvall.
