Wilma Whitehead, age 75 years, 8 months, and 23 days of Whitley City, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Lexington, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 1, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Tapley and Bro. Tyler Longsworth officiating. Burial was in the Pine Knot Cemetery.

She was born August 3, 1947 to George Perry and Cora Sexton Perry. Wilma had been employed with McCreary Manufacturing before her retirement and was a member of the Hill Top Baptist Church. She loved to cook and bake and especially enjoyed feeding people. Wilma adored her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Anyone who knew her knew her love of decorating her home inside and out for the Christmas holidays. Wilma also loved to plant and care for her flower garden.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Lucian Whitehead, whom she married June 6, 1970, brothers, William "Willie" Perry, Tom Perry, Johnny Perry, Ben Perry, and Barney Perry, and sisters, Oma Perry, and Mary Lewis.

Survivors include her daughter, Belinda Wilson and her husband, Terry of Whitley City, grandchildren, Tyler Wilson, Kesha Wilson, and Katie Wilson, and a brother, Robert "Bob" Perry, sisters, Reba Martin and her husband, Jack, and Rosa Branham and her husband, Cecil, and a very special friend, Kathy Troxell Strunk.
