Bethel  West
Bethel E. West age 84 years, 4 months, and 8 days of Stearns, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at the McCreary Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Stephens officiating. Burial followed in the Angel Cemetery.
He was born August 12, 1929 in Blackey, Kentucky to the late Ery West and Rebecca (Dabney) West. Bethel was a member and deacon of the Walkers Chapel Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and served as the Sunday School Superintendant. He was veteran having served in the United States Army, Air Force, Marines, and Navy. Bethel also attended Navy Preflight School and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Preceding him in death are his parents, two brothers, Lewis West and Dan West, and one grandchild, Kandi.
He is survived in death by his wife, Opal (Martin) West of Stearns; two sons, Allen West and wife, Lisa, of Stearns and Chris West and wife, Jeannie, of Revelo; one sister, Cora Edna West-New of Somerset; three grandchildren, Ryan, Landon, and Erika; and several nieces and nephews.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mr. Bethel West.
