Betty Maxine Linder age 87 years, 9 months, and 4 days of Kings Mt., Kentucky, formerly of McCreary County, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Lisa Family Care Center in Kings Mt. Kentucky. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Miller officiating. Burial followed in the Taylor Ridge Cemetery.
She was born April 9, 1926 in Whitley City, Kentucky to Harley Bruce and Tava (Worley) Bruce. Betty was a member of the Whitley City First Baptist Church. She devoted her life to serving the Lord and being active in her faith by witnessing to everyone she came in contact with. Betty taught the Bible through Job Corps and television ministry. She also taught Sunday School and gave gospel tracks out wherever she was.
Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers, John and Don Bruce, and a sister, Clara Redell.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Robert Linder whom she married in June of 1966; a daughter, Madonna Blanton of Milford, Ohio; an adopted daughter, Yolanda Steioff; brothers, Harley Bruce, Jr. and Jim Bruce; a sister, Beatrice Combs; 4 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
