Caleb "Buster" Stephens, Jr. age 79 years, 3 months, and 19 days of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Methodist Cemetery.
He was born December 4, 1936 in Whitley City, Kentucky to Caleb Stephens Sr. and Evelyn (Strunk) Stephens. Buster was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served in both the Korean and Vietnam War. He was retired from the McCreary County Board of Education where he devoted over 32 years as a school teacher and transportation supervisor for the bus garage. In his spare time, Buster enjoyed woodwork. He built his own home and many beautiful grandfather clocks. Buster also had an interest in fast cars, motorcycles, and boats.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Burma (Brown) Stephens; and a sister, Karen.
Survivors include his son, Greg Stephens and wife, Irina, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; a daughter, Lynn Terry and husband, Jeff, of Whitley City, Kentucky; brothers, Scott Stephens and wife, Sandy, of Floral City, Florida, David Michael Stephens and wife, Shawn, of Tallahassee, Florida, sisters, Marjorie Brackett of Lexington, Kentucky, Jeanetta Wilson of Litha Springs, Georgia, Georgia Kay Nevels of Lexington, Kentucky, Sue Douglas of Denver, Colorado, and Kathy Bird, of Greenvile, Tennessee; and 3 grandchildren, Chase Terry, Conner Terry, and Svetlana Stephens.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mr. Caleb "Buster" Stephens.
