Charlene Strunk age 87 years, 7 months, and 27 days, passed away Friday October 5, 2018 at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, October 9, 2018 at 2:30 pm at the Jones Cemetery in Strunk, Kentucky with Bro. Chris Sewell officiating .

She was born February 8, 1931 in the Roundtop community in Strunk, Kentucky to Luther and Savannah ( Taylor ) Stephen. Charlene received her Master's Degree from Eastern Kentucky University and was a retired elementary school teacher for the McCreary County School District . Additionally she was a member of the Gideons International, McCreary County Campus. Charlene was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Winfield Baptist Church. She valued education profoundly and encouraged students to reach for the stars. Charlene also enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with her beloved family. She
enjoyed painting and was well known in the community for her paintings.

Preceding her in death include her parents, husband, Luster Strunk, brothers, Joe Lee Stephens, Prince L Stephens, Paul R Stephens, Amon L Stephens, Howard Stephens, and Cleve Roman Stephens, sisters, Eva Klundt, Trannie Bell, Nannie Griffith, Edith Hammand, Letha Stephens, and Etta Faye Foster.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sharla Burchfield and husband, Ruben Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
