Darrell  Anderson
Darrell Anderson, age 71 year, 9 months, and 6 days, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday October 3 , 2018 at his home.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Perry, Bro. Roger Anderson, Bro. Bill King, Bro. Jim Loudermilk, and Isaiah Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Anderson Cemetery.

He was born December 28, 1946 to Ben and Georgia ( King ) Anderson in Strunk, Kentucky. Darrell retired from Lumber King in Whitley City with 28 years of dedicated service. He was also master carpenter and cabinet maker and upon his retirement started Anderson's Woodworking where he took pride in building custom cabinetry for his many clients. Darrell loved growing a big vegetable garden every summer and then canning his harvest. He also enjoyed hunting and was a accomplished musician, playing the banjo, guitar, and many other stringed instruments. Darrell was also a bladesmith and made many custom knives and had the God given talent to do most anything he put his mind to do. Additionally, he was a devout Christian and loved spending time with his beloved family.

Preceding him in death were his parents, son, Terry Wayne Anderson, great- grandchild, Zerek, sisters, Dana Wood and Patsy Ruth Anderson, and his father- in- law, Estel Perkins.

Those left to cherish his memory include wife of almost 50 years, Carolyn Sue Anderson of Stearns, sons, Dwight Anderson and wife, Rachel, Dwayne Anderson and wife, Trena ,both of Stearns, daughter, Sherry Anderson of Stearns, mother - in- law Beatrice Perkins of Stearns, sisters, Sue Young of Stearns, Mary Moses of Strunk, and Kaye Anderson of Winfield, Tennessee, six grandchildren, Zachary, Seth, Zane , Jacob, Luke, and Kaden, two great grandchildren, Zyler and Sullivan and a host of many wonderful friends as well.

HIckman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Darrell Anderson.
