Sterling Eugene Coffey, age 84 years, 2 months, and 10 days, passed away Tuesday, August 7,2018 at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 12:0 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Zack Pandelios officiating. Burial was in the Spradlin Cemetery.
He was born May 28,1934 in Co-Operative, Kentucky to Earl Edison Coffey and Mary Esther Spradlin Coffey. Gene retired from the Keebler Baking Company where he served as Superintendent . He enjoyed bird watching, fishing, camping ,and watching sports especially his beloved Cincinnati Reds. Gene was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters, Barbara Lee, Janice Coffey, and Shirley Coffey, a brother, Kenneth Coffey, sister-in -law, Joy Coffey, brother-in -law , Jack Kidd, nephews, Dale Franklin Coffey and Alan Ray Lee, and a niece, Rita Diane Coffey Roberts.
Survivors include wife of 55 years, Fannie Coffey, children, Robin Baker and Kathy Kaetzel of Ohio, Timothy Coffey of Stearns, and Randall Coffey of Tennessee, brothers , Forrest (Pete)Coffey and his wife, Geraldine, Gerald (Jerry) Coffey and his wife, Brenda, Eddie Coffey, Albert Coffey and his wife, Elizabeth, sisters, Reba Kidd and her husband, Lindell, of Stearns, Charlotta (Lot) Kidd, and Mary Theresa Coffey both of Tennessee, grandchildren, Brian, Christopher, Michael, Brandon and Kayla, twenty eight nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews as well.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Sterling Eugene Coffey.
